The Fazilka Cooperative Sugar Mill Ltd., Bodiwala Pitha, was registered as a Central Cooperative Society under Registration No. 809 dated 16.03.1981, in accordance with the Punjab Cooperative Societies Act, 1961.

The mill is located in village Bodiwala Pitha, on National Highway No. 7 (Fazilka-Abohar Road), approximately 15 km from Fazilka and 17 km from Abohar. It is spread across 83.3 acres of land, and the machinery for the plant was supplied by M/s Triveni Engineering Works Ltd.

The mill commenced its first cane crushing season in February 1986. Over its 39-year journey, the mill has witnessed several ups and downs. However, it has continued to operate and contribute significantly to the local economy. Despite the challenges, the mill has earned two prestigious national-level awards in Cane Development and Technical Efficiency in the year 1999–2000.

The mill serves as a lifeline for thousands of families, including employees, farmers, laborers, and traders who are either directly or indirectly dependent on it. In support of its cane growers, the mill provides subsidized pesticides and sugar. Additionally, a Kisan Rest House has been established to enhance the welfare and convenience of farmers.
